Luciano Sandrone, Dolcetto d’Alba 2023

The 2023 vintage was difficult, and although some varieties fared better than others, I feel like this wine does not reach its full expressiveness. The Luciano Sandrone 2023 Dolcetto d''Alba is a little muddled in terms of its aromas or is otherwise lacking clarity. You do get cherry and blackberry, but I also get prune juice and dark raisin. Those overripe flavors are followed by a thin, pithy mouthfeel. It is made in stainless steel only, and production is 30,000 bottles.
