Chateau Lassegue, St Emilion Grand Cru 2010

Deep inky colour with ruby reflections. This is extremely successful, with a feeling of everything being in its place - softly textured black cherry and blackberry fruits, riven through with cloves, cracked pepper spices, smoked earth and saffron. Savoury and juicy on the finish as the slate texture kicks in. Drink from 2021-2030. Tasted by Jane Anson and published by Decanter in June 2021.
